Renewal

Today I woke up to a brand new day
Fresh with no mistakes in it yet – as Anne would say
And I wanted to write again
I haven’t written anything real in a long time
Just messy processing and pain
That no one else was allowed to see
Because my heart was broken and not up for grabs anymore
Trust was gone

But God is good
He miraculously took my broken shattered heart
And repaired it
And made it new
And gave me a glimpse of hope
And a future

And today I felt loved again
I felt family again
I felt home again
And that has been gone for a long time

God is good

And today I wanted to write again
Because writing comes from that deep place inside of me
That place where God lives.
