Thoughts from God on Me
What does God think of when He thinks of me?
I have a beautiful daughter. She is smart and funny and a good friend. She has so many gifts and talents. She is a great encourager and a wonderful writer. She gives so much of herself for other people. She has a beautiful singing voice and she often sings for me. She is a great worker and wife and mother. She has been dealt some blows in life but I am so proud of how she has turned out. I love my daughter very much. I would do anything for her.
She is very busy with her family, friends and job. She works for me and she does a great job- everyone says so. She is very talented and works very hard.
I don’t get to see her very much- and we rarely sit down and have coffee together. When we do talk either it is very business like or she is going through a tough time. Don’t get me wrong- I love being there for her when she is sad- and I even love being there when she is angry at me. See- sometimes she blames me for the circumstances of her life. What she doesn’t always understand is that her own choices sometimes cause her pain – and other times things she wants are not good for her. While I can see the bigger picture – I don’t blame her for feeling that way. Someday she will understand. I am patient with her and never tell her “I told you so”.
If I could change my relationship with my daughter in any way it would be this. I would love to spend more time with her. Hanging out, laughing together, holding her hand and hugging her. I would love to listen to her hopes and dreams – and I would love to talk to her. You see- rarely does she take a breath and let me talk when we are together. I hate to interrupt and so I just listen. And I love to listen – don’t get me wrong. But there are so many things I would love to tell her. I would not only give her advice and direction but there are so many things she doesn’t know about me. Things I have done, but most of all- who I am.
BUT, she is a busy woman – and I understand. I just miss her sometimes – that’s all. I hope she knows that I am always there for her. Nothing in the world is more important to me than spending time with my daughter.
She is amazing – I hope you get to meet her someday.
